Has anyone installed a speaker in a similar location on a '07-'09 230/232?

My wife loves to keep the co-pilot seat in the lounge position (as shown, above), so I don't want to install it low.

However, I am not sure there is enough depth in the upper location for the speaker. Can anyone confirm there is?

Note: I will be installing another cockpit pair of Polk db651 speakers - the pilot side will have to be mounted low, below my previously installed Blue Sea switch panel

I just recently put my extra Polk DB651 pair in the same place as Mel and love the filled in sound... its a 240 though. You should be able to look up in through the undersea storage to get an idea on depth...

@GTBRMC , take out a cupholder or two, lay a light down in there, make a jig just the depth you need, and use a mechanics mirror to watch as you feed the jig up and behind the wall to gauge depth. If it needs a 1/4" spacer or so, that is not bad. More than a 1/2" and it gets to looking funny IMO. If it needs a spacer, you can mill one out of King starboard to fit and it will reduce needed depth by it's thickness.

Like @jawsf16 said, you can also go into the port side seat storage snd either remove the bulkhead or go over it to also access te area to gauge depth. Lots of light helps.

In my 07 SX 230 with the speakers all low in the cabin, its hard to hear. I bet a set higher on each side would help with that.

Mid cabin speakers help a great deal to add not only volume but fullness and richness to the sound in the cockpit.

In the 07' they had mid cabin but no bow speakers. I wonder if adding bow speakers between the cushions would help. I remember seeing others do it on the other forum.
