Decided I'd upgrade the sound system in my 165 HO. Spent most of the day installing a second battery with an ACR relay system, and upgrading the wiring to 4 AWG to support the power requirements of the amplifier. Tested everything. ACR worked, all boat power worked but boat would not start. Checked wiring again. No start. Checked wiring yet again. No start. Rewired back to original single battery system with no ACR. No start. Neighbor comes over who has experience with Seadoos and Rotax engines. Says either a relay is out or the starter solenoid is bad. Seems reasonable. Went inside for a while to contemplate where to buy BRP parts in Nashville. Browsed about on this forum and read a post about a faulty engine cut out switch. Cut out switch?? Hmmm, did I install the cut out switch clip? Nope.

I've helped hundreds of boaters over the years. I've flagged that specific possible problem many times. This summer my boat won't start. I start checking various things and before I even think about it, my wife "is the safety switch good?". No. No it wasn't. F-me

By the way Luc, your detailed "how to" posts on this forum are awesome. Thank you for taking the time to write things up.

Appreciate the comment. I do try. But this isn't my full time job. Lol also, I've definitely learned a lot over the years too. So my comments have hopefully become better with time. :)
