Since I don't fish, I wouldn't take a free house on Lake Marion. Even though the lake is very large it is unfortunately very shallow, lots of stumps just below the waterline and lots of debris floating. When a lake that big has a marked boating channel you know something is up.
If you like to fish from what I hear the lake is very good for fishing.
One of our Charleston runs started in lake Marion and a couple of boats ran into debris floating, luckily no damage. Now for our Charleston runs we will never boat in lake Marion.
