Hey guys, new to this forum and loving it. I have a new AR250, and it will be going into dry storage (Forklift) when not in use. I am looking for a lightweight elastic cover to put on it to kinda keep it clean but also add a little protection. First week it got put in storage "stack", an older boat over it leaked what appears to be hydraulic fluid on the rear platform, we got it out with some elbow grease and they pulled the other boat down, but I would like a little more protection.

The problem is, I need to be able to put it on while it is at the dock in the water, any ideas?

The storage facility closes at 6pm, so when we come in late, we leave it at the dock and they put it up the next morning, hence needing to put the cover on while it's in the water.

Keenly interested on responses to this thread as my marina stores my boat on the rack as well. I have been using the shipping cover until my mooring cover arrives (no ETA, backordered) but it is a real pain in the rear. I install the cover while on the water when I tie up the boat. In order to make it a bit easier on the marina staff, I cut slits for the cleats and tie the boat up over the cover.
Last weekend my cover was not properly secured and blew off into the water. Fortunately the marina staff and some great fellow marina members pulled it out of the water.

So does the mooring cover you ordered have the ratchet/belt straps, I assume the factory one does. I've had one of those types on a previous boat, it it was a job to put on while the boat was on the trailer in the driveway, I can't imagine how it would be possible while in the water.

Check out seal skin covers. I have seen others recommend them, and they have great reviews. I was about to order one for the same purpose, but found “Icover” on Amazon for about half the price. As I’m really only using it as a “dust cover”, I went the thrifty route here (but can say the 600D cover is pretty stout - can’t speak to durability yet).

I don’t believe iCover has a cover for over 24ft.

We are using the Yamaha factory mooring cover for dry storage. Only put it on twice so far, the second time was faster and also I skipped the support poles since the boat is ‘mostly‘ covered in the rack. What’s hard is wrestling the big cover into place, it being elastic vs. ratchet strap might help a little, but the last rear corner on the mooring cover just requires all the rest to be aligned. Yes, you will have hands down in the water looping the rear corner straps on, I have to lay on my stomach on the dock to reach the final corner.

Benefits of the mooring cover; it fits around the tower so I don’t lower it In storage. It has perfectly located zip-holes thru the cover for cleats so I can run lines to dock. It is just enough easier than the shipping cover to be tolerable, but still a hassle. They were back ordered at my dealer too but I found an authentic factory cover on eBay on discount. I had to vacuum leaves and completely clean my boat last weekend after the forklift people I tipped and asked to put my cover on for me apparently left it until the next morning. Never again, I will cover it myself. Still open to a better cover solution but not ready to pay $$$ for a bunch of snap-holes to be drilled in my 2021. Wish it fit in my garage.
