I spent the winter rebuilding another LS2000. My wife decided to plan a week vacation to Deep Creek with some friends. I had only had the boat on the water twice to break in the engines. Didn't know how it would react sitting on its own dock for 7 days! Well, day 4 now and not a single issue! Have right at 4.4 hours showing on the hour meters. Water here is cold however! image.jpgimage.jpg We took it to Lakeside Creamery to get the kids some ice cream. Dock sure was empty!image.jpg

Sharp boat!
where is that lake exactly? Any lake with a creamery is worth a visit. We have a DQ on ours

Thanks, it is on the western tip of Maryland bordering West Virginia. We live in the southern part of Ohio and it was about a 5 hour drive. It's a pretty big lake, but cold water.

Was there in August last year. Also went to the creamery, boat wakes can be a pain while docking there. Does it ever get warm there? Feel like we were freezing the entire in dead of summer!

Funny you mentioned that because it is definitely a busy, non calm lake. Seems like there are constant wakes. The kids and adults like tubing on it however you have to keep a constant eye on other boats around you. Not sure we'll come back. Even the air temperature has been low.

@Gmmastertech1 looks like a fun trip, great work on the boat!

I live in northern MD (Elkton). We were looking at Deep Creek as well. As suggestions on places to rent? The place shown in the picture looks awesome.

Thx Blazin!

Great pics @Gmmastertech1 ! Are the lakes in Maryland warm during any given time or is this lake always cold?

Thanks Blazin! The particular place we rented from is from Taylor Made rentals. They have quite a few dockside homes/cabins. It is a little tricky getting the boat to the cabin as it was on a single lane road with lots of twists and turns.

Thanks Mel! When I filled the boat up at Bills Marina dockside filling station I asked the guy that same question. He said there peak summer season is in July/August. He said the water temp right now is 68 degrees. Supposedly rises to 79. I don't believe it! We are here now and everything closes

Oops! Closes at 7pm! And lots of things aren't open till the weekend. Apparently they aren't in full swing until July.

image.jpg Well, the boat stayed on the water for a total of 7 days with no issues at all. I call that a win! Forgot to mention that the elevation was 2600 feet here and I was able to GPS 52mph with 4 adults and gear. Yeah, baby!! What better way to end the day and week.... bumper tubing!

I was thinking of towing mine up to Deep Creek some day but I'm glad to see that you say it is pretty busy as that may have changed my mind. It would not be much fun pulling over the mountains from down here either.

There is just something about fresh water though to me having grown up on a fresh water lake. Too bad there isn't more fresh water around here.

Stuck in salt water haven lol @captainhook

After more thinking, we will probably return. The lake is definitely beautiful and my wife enjoyed it. Not sure how much more busy it would be in July/August however. When I say busy, it may be normal to other people. I'm just used to boating on smaller lakes. Deep Creek is big. There are tons of homes around the perimeter with their own docks. Also, it may be just me, but the locals there seem like they are aggravated with Deep Creek Lake trying to be a tourist destination. Quite a few unfriendly people.
