Is there any need to clean or disinfect the bilge? For example to avoid mold. Etc.?
...how do you get easiest access?

I pull the plug on my boat well it is on an angle right after I pull it out and it almost completely drains I have not had any problem with my bilge.

2.5+ years in salt water - no issues. I always pull the drain plugs after an outing, and mine is stored in the rack at the marina.
