Can't speak to Robert's experience, but we did the same last trip. Firstly, there's a lot more to do on north island. I've also heard/seen that cove is continuing to deteriorate in quality. We had a blast on north island being able to go down to the casino whenever, grab dinner at different restaurants, the day club, a couple pools, great beach (although also available on south island). That being said, it was just my wife and I, no kids. If we needed multiple rooms/beds for kids and friends/family I'd definitely go Airbnb although probably still stay at one of the north island condos instead of the Hilton. If your trip was going to be exclusively boat oriented, then I think you could be ok with staying at BC. We just liked the ability to vary it up if the weather wasn't spectacular or when we were tired in the evenings. Biggest convenience for BC though is that your dock is MUCH more accessible than on north island. Ours was a bit of a headache and depending where you stay you might need to take a golf cart to/from your boat to the condo/room.

We have stayed at Sands 4 times and Resort World 6 times now and they are just two different experiences. I have not stayed at Sands since 2019 though so somethings may have changed. No bug issues at Resort World better water and power I have yet to lose either while staying there and I have lost at least one every time I stayed at the sands. It feels more like a vacation while at resort world then my experiences at the sands. I keep referring to it as Sands as I have not been since it has changed to Cove. I did how ever have friends who stayed there in 2022 and we stopped in the marina for a moment to wait for them but had to immediately pull back out as we were attacked by bugs the second we pulled in. We typically rent a house at resort world with docking right behind it which is convenient. As @svana mentioned if you rent a condo at Resort World it's kind of a pain and likely requires a golf cart rental as well. At RW I would rent a house on the water with docking or stay at the Hilton if I was renting a condo by the time I add docking and golf cart I would probably go stay at the cove. Honestly though I have stayed at the Hilton twice and it's nice staying there for my June trip I will probably stay there as the house rentals have gotten out of control on pricing. We used to pay around a $1000 night they are closer to $1700 a night this year which is just too much.

Funny you mention never losing power, one of our breakers in the room at Hilton would start screaming every couple hours and I’d have to go trip and reset it. It only happened one evening though, I assume the building was under a heavy load. And oh man how could I forget to mention the mosquitos on South Island. We were literally running from the condo to the boat and from the green turtle to the condo one evening. Came back covered in bites. And man, big spender on those airbnb houses on the island with the docks lol. It would definitely be more palatable if we had enough bodies to fill the beds but it was a no-go with just the 2 of us.

We rented the house 4 times it was always split 2-4 ways so the numbers always made sense for us. Even splitting 2 ways each family needed a 2 bedroom condo which was about $250 a night but then needed a golf cart $100 a day and a slip which was around $160 a day so the same $500 a night we were splitting. One time there were four couples splitting so that was a no brainer. Same for us though our June trip will likely be just my family in the unit so we will just stay at the Hilton as the cost of the house is just too high to justify. I can rent a condo cheaper but by the time I add the golf cart in and the headache of have to golf cart things to and from the boat its just nice to stay at the Hilton and tip the dock master enough to slip me in front of the Hilton lol.

Ya, we paid/tipped the golf carters to schlep our stuff to/from the hotel on our first and last day there. Of course it was POURING when we got there so even more reason to not try and heave everything. We rented a slip from an Airbnb guy (which was a headache in its own right) so we were at Fishermans Village instead of the mega marina right by the hotel. But agreed if we were going with another couple or two we would've been ok with splitting the house. None of our couples friends want to commit to going though...

When we went cove/sands last time we had no bugs but it was also 85 and sunny. We were on land to sleep and resupply. Mostly with bimini bread and local rum. Snorkling fishing exploring is our goals! 5 of us so a 1 bed loft seems perfect. True there's more to do on north and we will probably do a day there. Didn't think of airbnb there just knew hotel

Looks like we may be losing both boats that we’re going with us. @robert843 did you guys make reservations yet?
It’s 3 skis
No dead weight this trip though.

booked a slip in fishermans village from 13-16th of june and a couple condos in Bimini bay.....let me know what time you guys plan on heading out and if you need anything as im local and may be able to help @robert843

We will likely be departing from Bahia Mar in Ft Lauderdale around 6:30am but I will keep you posted. I think we are staying at the Hilton in Bimini that's what we have booked right now at least.

We will be crossing either the 16 or the 17 depending on the weather.
We have a villa/condo on the Hilton property this time.
Have the grocery “stores” improved any over the past few years or should we still pack everything we think we will need? :p

the store at resort worlds has some stuff enough you could make it work. If there is something you think you must have for sure bring it. If you’re staying at the Hilton side that there’s plenty of restaurants. Even going on the boat this trip we will pack minimal food just for some lunch stuff and maybe grab and go breakfast items I will plan on having dinner at the restaurants every night.

Awesome! Thank you. Last time I was there was during Covid
I did see a small grocery store across from the place we needed to be tested but I was looking for cat food to feed the local street cats and didn’t even look at anything else ??

If we stay at sands/cove is it possible to boat over to RW for a dinner? With 3 kids?

I have jetskied at night, I’m not saying it was the smartest thing to do, and I have been in someone’s boat who had the proper navigational equipment to navigate at night and I know Amar did , I don’t see why not
I found what I thought was a pretty good video of places to eat over on north Bimini that’s only 9 months old
Three Daughters has always been my favorite because the people are so nice and prices are great

not directly to resort world. As Val mentioned just take your boat I have never really had an issue finding somewhere to park over there after dark.

My experience is strictly anecdotal but we stayed at the Hilton for a week last year and they had a little docking valet guy out there that folks were boating up for breakfast. It could be that they already had slips rented or it was for guests only but that was the situation every morning we went down.
