The zipper section of my Bimini top (2018 242 xe) got loose and shredded in the off season from blow in’ in the wind.

Anyone ever used an upholstery or seamstress shop to repair the Bimini or any info on replacement option appreciated.

We are wondering the same. We bought a 2018 242 XE July 3rd and ours has already disintegrated. We are calling for a quote on one tomorrow. People on Facebook groups recommended getting one done at an upholstery shop made out of umbrella canvas. It will hold up better and Hopefully is cheaper than $1600 for a new factory one. Right now we are using it with the zipper section broken off and rolled up and even the stitching around the edges at the very back are fraying. Did you find anything out yourself?

Haven’t searched yet but yeah I’m running with the zipper section open and rolled up and tucked in. Seems difficult to remove the whole thing to bring in to an upholstery shop maybe just do a bunch of photos?

Only done smaller repairs myself (like 4" rips). Oversewed a patch, basically, with lots of zig zag; finished it off with some gorilla tape on the inside. Held for a few years until the rest of the thing died. So it is possible...
