I am about to pick up my new 255 FSH. My boat house will not fit a cradle due to water depth. I need to know how long my slings need to be as the manual does not have that dimension. Also, can spreader bars be used to keep tension off of the gunnels?

Are you sure you can't use a cradle? My cradle only takes a couple of inches.

It’s not the inches at the center of the boat it’s the 2.5 feet at at the ends.

What are the length of your beams?

I'm in a similar situation. Taking delivery of new 2025 Sport H next week. I need to mod my lift to support it. I think I can use a cradle (might have to dredge a little toward the front of the bulkhead), but probably not. My issue is getting the TTOP lined up in between the support beams. I'm buying a new lift kit with cradle, but using the existing wood beam (2x8s bolted together) that are 12' long. I'm considering moving the beams to give me 10' of spacing between. The first beam (from back to front of boathouse) is at 5' in, should put a cradle cross beam below the engines. If i move the 2nd beam (back to front) to be at 15' (stern to bow), that would put it at just in front of the windshield. Does that sound right? This would use side mount pole/gear/motor with 1/2" stainless cables through pulleys to the cradle. I've read that the suggested distance between beams is equal to the boat's beam width (8' 6")? That would give 1.5" of clearance front and back of the TTOP going between the beams. Way to close... in my mind.

I had a guy in my area make 16” slings. Works perfectly. The pulleys were spread about 3” past my boat width on both sides so minimal pressure on the gunnels.

16" slings? You mean 16'? I don't think I want to use slings... I would prefer the cradle since weight distribution is better and sway will be less. Does your TTOP fit between the beams that the slings are rigged to?

i see your pic now. your boat house is much taller than mine. your center mount lift has a LOT of clearance for the TTOP. My boat house isn't nearly that tall.
