Installed a set of BoatBuckles on my 210 FSH. Ordered the extra brackets because the trailer mounting points wouldn’t allow the straps to be straight. I also replaced the 1” 1/2” bolts that came with the buckles with 1” stainless steel after having to grind one of oem bolts off because the nut froze on bolt and wouldn’t move. Probably a quality issue, but the 1 1/2” bolt was in a pretty tight area and the 1” fit a lot better.
There a little flex in the extra Buckle bracket, but I don’t think it will be an issue. The ratchet tightening and easy release is wonderful compared to the Yamaha suppoed straps.6785316F-4879-4778-ABBD-432460D0D290.jpeg87225329-3EFD-4CD9-965A-4EBA3C22532D.jpegE95C4D50-A0C6-466C-A0A7-E8730C44B984.jpeg4A605DF1-F65E-490F-A99B-E938DAE64A6B.jpeg

FYI, I had mine mounted the same way on my 195 and that ear on the trailer started to bend a little and the whole bracket ended up loosening over time and drooping. I ended up getting two long stainless bolts and drilling holes through one of the extra sets of holes on the bunk mounts on the cross beam so it goes through 4 pieces of metal. It puts the buckles in a better position to really cinch them down and they haven't moved since! Love them, so much nicer!

Cant believe they’re still shipping them with bolts that seize and no lube. I had to cut mine off as well and go find new bolts. Wrote them a nasty email and they sent me new bolts AND lube so they wouldn’t seize.

What a dumb company to not fix such a minor and constantly recurring problem.

I mounted mine directly to the trailer frame. Those brackets will bend.

I think it’s the quality of the bolts. Doesn’t take much to lock them up

They have a stainless steel version for salt water applications.

I purchased the saltwater buckles. The bolts and nuts were stainless. $6.00 each for a new set made in the USA!

There are different grades of stainless, Boat Buckles probably gets their hardware from the great Amazon of China.

Any pics you can send my way would be greatly appreciated! I'm having the same issue with mine, they are bending the bracket

Just an FYI...If you use an impact gun, or over tighten stainless steel bolts, they will stretch. You will never get them off, you'll have to cut them.

My boat is covered in my garage, but let me see if I can snap a photo of the buckles.

Not sure if this will help you or not, but you can see where I mounted mine. Talked to Shorelandr and they said does not affect the integrity of the frame. I bought a longer SS bolt to go through the frame. If you need something different, I can take a picture for you this weekend.

Yes please. I purchased a set last season, but never mounted so I would love to see where you place them before I do this next month.

Okay…here is some pictures of my install after talking to Shorelandr. Hope these help.199DF224-3035-4906-A3EF-70CF57425EB0.jpegBA75A56C-C0F6-4EEB-A5CB-749F30EF6CCB.jpeg696675B8-6689-4062-9BC0-A1D431BD7CAF.jpeg6EBDDBBD-F68B-4C44-87B0-2171A02ADA91.jpegAF10F93C-4FF3-42F1-B3BA-64BB64E3A33C.jpeg2818848E-B028-493D-847B-3B58B4E4B0D5.jpeg199DF224-3035-4906-A3EF-70CF57425EB0.jpeg

@RobbieO - Looks like a clean install! I’m looking to install mine the same way, when you spoke to Shorelandr, did they mention where the wires run in the trailer? My fear is hitting the wiring loom with the drill and having to sort that out.

My wiring was in the bottom of the channel. I drilled my holes dead center in the channel. Drill the outside hole first, and then you can determine where the wires are at. I don’t recall having any issues with the wiring, but every trailer is different. They aren’t secured in there, so the should be routed in the bottom of the channel.

Appreciate the info! I think I may have been giving Shorelandr more credit in their engineering than is due.

I mounted mine using the optional tabs and yes, they can bend. But maybe more problematic is that on the 19' doesn't quite meet the suggested 14". I plan on moving min, had thought about drilling but I believe I can one of the unused bunk adjust points/hole to mount. Has anyone tried.
