I will let you know come spring!
I do occasionally have it hang up for some reason after it sits for a while but it is just the magnets sticking in the "up" position from what I can tell. If the brake drags a second I just put in reverse a second and it knocks it loose. Without using a lockout pin btw.

The only real option I have found for electric brakes is a electric over hydrolic system for an additional $585 dollars.

I'm sorry you have this as your only option. I do believe I put up links etc. above.
All the bearings are very standard stuff. When you pull out a bearing, it will have a number stamped on it and you can purchase what you need online very easily. The brake parts themselves are farily inexpensive. Honestly the most expensive part is having a brake controller hooked up.

As a general rule of thumb they recommend replacing the brake fluid every two years. As others have said, brake fluid attracts water, and this is just one way to ensure you don't get the rust in the lines.

While you're down there looking over the brakes, check the bolts that attach to the springs (there's eight total). I tow about 2000 miles per year with mine and had the trailer shop replace mine as there was a considerable amount of visible wear on them. Could I have gotten another year or two out of them...probably, but I consider it pretty cheap insurance to not be one of those broken-down boat trailers on the side of the road (when I'd rather be at the lake enjoying the boat). Here's what one of my bolts looked like:IMG_2250 (1).jpg

That is the reason I am looking for a new aluminum trailer... my mfi trailer will need a complete over haul of everything.. it would be cheaper but I can use it as an excuse to just buy a new one!

So does anyone have a parts list to convert to electric brakes? I have a 2012 Shorelander Model 11YAV46TABLW
