Are you looking to do the swap yourself? Or pay someone local to help?

I've heard they fit just fine, but the jetski ECU does not have no wake (and has a key ski upside down switch also) so you want to use your ECU.

If you are hiring someone local to help, go with their recommendation. They might be able to rebuild or find a replacement for you.

Hi guys, is there such a beast as a brand new. MR1 engine? I have 2008 ar 230. And kinda thinking about its future. I do not need engine now, but stuff happens and wanted to be morally ready.
So in case I will need an engine, can I buy a new one? Not a rebuilt as I heard lots of horror stores about rebuilt ones. I want to have same level of reliability as original engines. Is it possible? I have heard that it was possible to buy a "short block" from Yamaha, but do not 100 percent understand what that is. Thanks guys and Happy New Year

I have replaced 2 of these. No such thing as a brand new one, only remanufactured and you need a core. SBT is the only one i know and their engines have been hit or miss. I replaced Rt side and it has been in there for about 7 yrs. I replaced port engine 3 times under warranty. Luckily i did it myself because labor is not covered.

SBT new policy is you have to send in your engine first, they open it up and tell you you need more parts to build it. They have changed their model and its terrible. So you pay to ship to them, they tell you the bad news, and if you say no because it is now going to cost thousands more than what their website says they wont send you the motor back.
My advice is find another option
