So I installed manual Lectrotabs on my 242 LS and tried them out for the first time. I deployed them about 3 notches and the bow pointed down a little bit but I was alarmed at the 7 -8 mph dropoff in speed. It felt like I was dragging a small anchor. I'm pretty sure this is going to cause fuel usage to go way up. They are installed correctly. Never seen anyone complaining about this issue in the forums, is it just my imagination?

Anytime you add drag to a vehicle it is always at the cost of speed, therefore fuel. That tradeoff is justified for a smoother, more controlled ride. You should not need to deploy the tabs all the time, only when conditions require.

I've installed trim tabs on all my boats. Love them. As @Gym noted, you use them when needed. Once you get the hang of them you won't regret buying them.

If you installed them correctly they should be completely out do the way when you have them up. I don’t recall noticing a reduction on my too speed when I put them on.

Now they are down half way or more yes you are right I can defiantly feel that I am dragging something

You should see your bow lowering with accompanying reduction in speed (and fuel economy) when deploying the tabs!
It basically means they work as designed.
