So, since i almost done with the laundry room remodel,
https://jetboaters.net/threads/laundry-room-remodel.12014/
It's time for my camper to get fixed up.
I bought it from my father about 6 years ago. There has been an ongoing issue with the roof leaking. My father isn't the most hands on and fixing this meant adding more and more caulk. The fiberglass front is getting extremely brittle and cracking everywhere.
It's not worth the axles i put on it two years ago. But the campers we like will need to wait a good 5 years. Expenses like Bimini and Cumberland seem to be getting in the way.
Today is afternoon 2. 4 total hours invested so far. Got a deal on diamond plate aluminum so good from our supplier i may go get more and deck out the other hatches!
Anyways... tl;dr send pictures!

Watching!

--

man this gives me flashbacks, i helped my neighbor rebuild the structure and sheetmetal on the front of his old rv a few months ago due to a leak around one of the front upper windows that rotted the front out of it and started to bubble the aluminum siding

It is my youngest sons birthday today!
My Grandmother died yesterday.
I am pretty sick today.
Those are my excuses.

Anyways, the cabinets that were in there along the front had to come out. Too much water damage. As i am replacing the boards that are rotted, the interior luan is pulling away and becoming annoying. I am thinking of screwing it back tight and then seeing if anyone has 1970's wallpaper to cover it with, lol!
Right now i am going to focus on the exterior structure and deal with that stuff later. Also going to add some lumber extra where i want to put a swivel tv mount. This will allow me and wife to watch from our bed or swing it the other way so kids can watch.
I feel so nasty/sick that i think i am doing more sitting than working.

Did what painting i could with a 4" brush, lol

Now time for bed. Being sick is really really draining me.

Acute bronchitis. Whatever that is it sure slowed me down. Was still able to work all day yesterday but then had to change the brakes all on my wifes Expedition.
In any case, work is slow due to the cold today. Making a little headway. Boxing in the window, taking off hardware, and going to fill it in.

Patch panel in. Not sure how i am finishing the inside so i used screws. Doubt i can just spackle and paint like a drywall home interior.

No idea why i thought one sheet of foam would be enough...

Foam done. A bit swiss cheesed where there is wiring. May tape up some spots yet. Some spots left open yet because i want to fish wire loom through.
Going to store and buying marking crayons for the aluminum and calling it a day for now. They got me working outside moving power scaffold and after that i go to my Grandmothers visitation/wake/whateveryouwannacallit.

Fyi, excessive pictures in case i screw up and need to measure something out, lol!

My test piece! This is the cutoff from the bottom piece. Going to trst everything and see if my little press will do this .063 aluminum or if it goes to the FIL for the machine shop.20170110_124629.jpg

Ok.. this is gonna be a LOT of bling for this old camper!

A little extra precaution to the main problem area...

Finally sheeted but still need to bend corners and straighten edges etc.
My cousin caught me and said to test the lights. FYI: LED lights can't reverse polarity.

Made my own edging out of diamond plate. My originals aren't made anymore.
Doing the other side and finish up caulk then it's outside for a water test!
