@Gavin has been asking to go camping all summer. The weather and our schedules aligned for a perfect Lake Ouachita overnight trip this weekend.
We started off by letting Cap'n Gavin take the helm. He pointed us toward his favorite island.
While looking for a camp site we had the fortune of bumping into @SAGERFLY who had found the perfect cove and was willing to share. We had gotten a late start after a birthday party so his family had to head out for their 1.5 hour tow home soon after we arrived. It was nice meeting them. Yamaha's are somewhat scarce in our area.
We setup camp and played in the water while dinner grilled.
I tried to convince them it was not worth eating.
But they disagreed.
We enjoyed watching the sunset.
Then it was time for our first camp fire of the year.
Before going to sleep @Emma asked to launched some paper lanterns
The next morning we hung out in the tent until the temperature rose above 60. Then we ventured out to make breakfast and relight the fire. We spent the rest of the day enjoying the water.
It was a lot of prep work for a short camping trip for @Rana and I but the whole family had a great time on some beautiful water.
