Normally I winterize my boat in January here in Georgia, doesn't usually get cold until now. However, as everyone is probably aware, the US is in a severe cold front. My boat is not winterized and the water was not blown out the last time I used it about 45 days ago. It is at a marina and they launch and recover so blowing out the water does not happen as much as it should. Should I be concerned? I am new to Yamaha's so not sure how sensitive they are to the cold. 2016 Yamaha AR 240.

I wouldn't be

It's to late now anyways

IMO - no worries. The Yamaha JB cooling system raw water all drains and collects inside the water box (exhaust) and down inside the pump. Both reservoirs have plenty of space for water to expand.
Very different situation than an inboard/sterndrive motor raw water passages where ice can crack the block. I am one of the members here who does NOT winterize. Blowing the water out if preferable, but I would not consider it essential as the water will drain down into the waterbox and out the pump anyway.
Ideally one would always store with the bow up as far as the trailer jack extends (plus a cinder/wood block etc.).

Thanks for the replies. It had me concerned a bit, having only ever owned stern drive. I am pulling it next week regardless to clean it up and treat the gas.

I couldn't remember if i blew out water when i got home from our last outing. So i jumped in and ran each motor and blew them out. It sounded funny and after i got off boat saw ice cubes on the ground and in the exhaust.
Decided to run each engine on the hose for a bit and melt the ice, then blow aout again.
Probably not necessary but felt better doing it now

I've got a different motor (1.6 L) but I've never used antifreeze. It was -5 Deg F one morning last week. Boat is unheated storage. I'm not worried. This will be my 7th Wisconsin winter with the boat and I've never had any issues.

No worries Hellacool. Been through several Yamaha winters. 05, and my 13 have done fine.
