Finally finished my guide post install and my LED trailer light upgrade. Can't believe 2021 shorelandr trailer came with incandescent bulbs. The post lights are 72" high as per DOT regs. Hope the posts are tall enough. My beam at the widest point is 102", so I have them 104" apart. Big difference on the trailer lights

The 2021 had incandescent lights?!? Geez. My 2012 had LED's. Wonder what happened. COVID supply chain hickups probably had them taking whatever they had off the shelves to make a trailer, I would guess...

But you fixed it up nice!

Thanks. Funny, the dealer told me not to worry about disconnecting the trailer when launching, it has sealed LED lights. Well it does now!

Even more strange...my 2013 Shorelandr didn't have LEDs. Came with incandescent tail lights, so I swapped those out the first season.

First mod I did was upgrade the lights. I even called Shorlandr and asked them WTF - they told me that's how Yamaha orders them. Cheap bastards.

In 2020, pre-covid, the trailer lights on a 24' were LED, but the 21's were bulb. Because reasons?

This looks great. Can you share what components or kit you used? I’m picking up my 2021 ar210 in a couple weeks and would like to get this out of the way early! There are lots of choices for LEDs trailer lights and just as many price points it seems

Here is the link for the guide posts. I painted the metal posts black, and primed first.
Here is the link for the padded covers.
Here is the link for the post lites, which I also painted black. The lites are 10" tall so I cut down the posts. You can't have the lights higher than 72" according to DOT regs.

These work great if you are launching by yourself. You just feed the boat in between the posts with the dock lines, and she finds her way home.

Good Luck!

Without taking these off, I can't tell if they are LED. At orientation, the guy said it wasn't necessary to unhook the power before backing into the water.

Edit: 2021 252SD

FYI, I bought the CE-Smith guide posts for my 252SD and the U bolts are too short to fit my trailer. Heading to HD today for a solution.

Thanks! Looks like the Lowe's near me has the right size so I can install today. I plan to install under the frame. Above seems too close to the boat and I worry about scratching the hull.
I/m going to dip mine in Plastic Dip at some point. Good luck!

Yep that's what I did, installed under the rail and Plasti dipped them prior to install. Plasti dip the bracket also so they don't scratch the trailer when vibrating or get contacted by the boat.

Geez. Thanks. I never thought of plasti dip. Good call. I havent installed mine yet and YES, had to order the 6" brackets as extras. Amazon for me.

I also installed mine on the bottom. I’m only going to dip the bolts and brackets. I don’y anticipate the boat hitting anyyhing other thsn the pads on the posts.

Success! Mounted under frame. View attachment 146530
Just curious. Does the top u-bolt have the indentation? If not, you may want to get the ones from etrailer so they don’t shift. Are they set to the widest part of your bow? I had to readjust because I didn’t consider that.

@RobbieO, they don't have the indentation. I locked them on tight and they do shift a little, but worked fine when we launched / loaded the boat yesterday. I wet slip and don't trailer much, but I may replace them anyway.
