Hi, I'm applying a ceramic coating for the first time on my boat. Seems like it would be great to apply inside the boat too so that it makes water cleanup much faster and keep surfaces cleaner, longer.

But I've never used the stuff (I just applied my first coat on one side of the boat today, went well after tons of surface prep that was much needed) and I have no idea how slippery this stuff gets. Most of my walking surfaces have seadek, so obviously those aren't a problem. But gunwales and such are fibreglass. Wondering if it will make this too slippery when walking on them.

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything on using it inside like this.

Merci!

I wax my interior surfaces (not the non-skid walking areas) with paint sealant (synthetic wax - Griot's Poly Wax), and I applied a topper coat of Griot's 3 in 1 Ceramic wax (not the same a a true ceramic coating) after about 6 months. I did the same to the hull. Normally, I would have polished/waxed (Griot's One Step) my hull and inside at the one year mark in NOV, but it all looks so good and beads water so intensely that I will do it in MAR or APR.

I do use Non-Skid Wax twice a year on the non-skid areas. It does two things: (1) it makes them slippery for a week and (2) it makes them easier to clean.

I ceramic coated everything in my interior, except the floor which yours is covered in seadek anywho, including the steering wheel. You shouldn't notice it any slicker than a clean surface would be.

My daughter cleaned the boat one year and used Hot Sauce on the floor. It took most of the season for it not to be dangerously slippery.

@buckbuck lol I've never used that stuff, looks like a wax. I'd believe it! I wax my gunwales and slipped once almost died in the process lol. Hence why I'm asking the question.

I've already applied one coat on the gunwales... it's the only surface I'm a little worried about since I step on it all the time. But if it's an issue afterwards, I have semi-transparent traction stickers I can stick on there. I'd just like to avoid adding stickers since they always get dirty.

I've been tempted to wax my cockpit as well. I have all the gunnels covered with small SeaDek pieces, covering most all places I would ever need to step on, still, not sure if that's a good idea, thinking of guests jumping in and...
So far, I've always just used the 303AP on everything inside, but glass, leaves a nice sheen but no gloss and not slippery.

I think I'll stick with it for now - until we hear from @Luc Lafreniere at the end of the season, lol.
