We dock in a dry dock on the 5th level, as our boat is white and yellow, and we don't want other's dirt getting on our boat. In august 2017, we were told after our boat was stowed: it spilled "allot of used oil" on someone else's boat and we have been banned to dock down at the first level: where the diesel boat lifter, sprays all it's exhaust and dirt.
We have had two Mercury Optimax technicians come out to look at the boat. And they can find no cause for leakage. The last technician actually stated, he thinks he marina/dry dock people made a mistake with their boat lifter, causing the oil spill, and blamed it on us. We are the only "sporty boat" in the marina: all the others are pontoon boats, and "party boats".

Has anyone else had a mysterious leakage like this, and if so: what did it turn out to be.
Or: has anyone else been blamed for one's boat spilling oil on another's boat: and not been able to find the cause, and what to do? We are about to leave this marina: although it is the A1 best in the area.

This is my second post only: and I don't know how to put emails into the participant window. Please excuse me, if I didn't do it properly.
Thank you!

Since your hull should be sealed (or it would sink) the oil could not have come from the engine. Unless you leave your drain plugs out when stored, then it could logically happen. But oil residue would be seen inside the hull and near the drain.

The other place that oil is used in the Mercury powered SeaDoo boats is in the pump. There is gear oil and stator oil that should be changed annually. If it were done improperly by the last person to have serviced it, there is always a chance that it could have leaked. There again, you would see some sort of residue coming from the pump area near the intake of the jet.

Anyone that has serviced a Mercury Powered SeaDoo would know where to look. There is no direct comparison to a Rotax powered SeaDoo, as they engine and pump are 100% different. So if possible, have your service guy take a look. Sorry to say, there is no dipstick on these oils, so there is no way to check levels. If your boat had lost any significant amount of fluid, there would be external sign of it. As drying oil will almost always collect some dirt or dust.

Good luck!
