It is very hard to see when fresh!what i'd like to know is how in the hell one can tell where (fresh) oil is on the dipstick?? i've never been able to feel confident about it.
This method will absolutely work, IF... the dipstick tube is clear of excess residual oil. You don't want an oil streak up the stick throwing off your reading. Dipstick should be plunged and cleaned at least 3X (IMO) before taking a reading.Its simple. Pull dipstick and lay it flat on paper towel, you will see the level. Oil will be on the towel showing your level
