Just wondering what everybody does after using their boat for the weekend etc... and putting up until next time? I keep trailered it in a dry storage bay between uses.

I flush motors everytime I use it (salt or fresh water).
i also wash everything down before putting it back in storage slip.

Does anybody do anything with the clean out ports other than take the plugs out and leave hatch up to let it air out and dry?

Same question for motors. Anything to spray them down with to help prevent potential corrosion or is this even needed? Seems like the outboard we had when I was kid we would take the cover off and spray the motor with something?

Thanks for any reply’s or best practice recommendations.

I do what you do for the most part. I Also keep a can of Yamalube Silicone Spray and spray down hinges, and joints every other outing, just briefly. Also every few outings I spray with either marine lithium or Yamalube Silicone, the hitch pin, coupler, crank, winch, etc. Just to keep corrosion at bay.

I pull my plugs and shake the water out of them and leave them on my swim platform till next trip. I use a pool gasket lubricant around rubber seal on them and also briefly spray down the tubes themselves to remove any sand, silt or dirt just in case. Finally I pull my keel plug and leave it out.

Once a month, check tire bearings and seals and grease there to make sure there was no water intrusion and preventing a huge issue.

Park in driveway, take wet stuff out, dump porta potty if used, cover and go back to it the next weekend.
