Officials release new video of Clearwater ferry crash

One person was killed in the incident, and 10 others were injured.

The video says a lot. As a former charter captain my self, I am furious that no one has been arrested yet. Sober or non-sober. Hopefully that will change as the investigation continues.
 
Read up on this today and still no arrest.

"The captain of the recreational boat was cooperative with authorities and submitted to a Breathalyzer test, but no alcohol was found, officials said on Monday.

No one has been taken in custody and authorities are working with the states attorney's office to determine if the incident should be categorized as a hit-and-run, officials said."

I don't understand how it can't be categorized as a hit and run, they did just that.

The guy is a community billionaire. That might have something to do with it. He has a significant record of boating accidents, including a previous fatality. Also a record of drugs, a blood sample should have been drawn.
 
We have our own POS. This guy owns the marina that I dry-stacked at for a few years. He rammed his 45' Nor-Tech center console into a house boat that is rented for parties and then fled the scene. He skedaddled down the river, parked the boat at a different marina, and didn't turn himself in for three days. No one died but there were plenty of injuries to the people onboard.


He did get convicted but 5 months in the slam seems like a gift from the judge.

They have the BEST boat captains in Florida. Prolly related to the BEST charter captain.
