Cockpit Netting

I found a black piece of netting with an elastic rope that goes somewhere in my boat. Does anyone know where it goes and how to install it? I've searched the world over and can't find any information.

What model boat do you have? On the 242 limited s that net goes on the left side of the passenger seat where the side wall is concaved in and works as a trash can holder.

@Devildog Most of us use it on the passenger side console. Where the indentation is near the floor you will see the clips to hold it. It only fits tight if you fold it on the ends as big as it is I still wonder if wasn't meant to hold a trash can in that spot. We use that area to hold shoes and sandal with the net.
