I know there are several threads on installing amps, subs, extra speakers, etc., and they’ve all been really helpful in navigating the need for different stereo harnesses to get RCA outputs, a remote wire, and so on. Everything is installed now and sounds great.
However, I’m consistently getting radio and depth transponder communication errors, which I never had before. Also, I can no longer control the swim deck head unit from the Connext system — volume, song skip, source selection — all the source icons just show a lock symbol.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I could replace the head unit and the depth transponder, but it seems more likely that changing out the stock harnesses at the head unit disconnected something from the boat’s communication system. When I replaced Harness A and B, I matched all the wire colors to the original ones, even the stock speaker wires I’m no longer using, because I didn’t want to accidentally bypass anything.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
