Thought has crossed my mind. With the crazy market and if I could make a profit. Have plenty of friends with boats for our boating fix if we were to wait out the market. My dealer stated I could have made money last summer on it very easily! Idk. What do you all think?

Are you ready to be without a boat for a summer or two?

If so, this is the time to sell!!!

A boat is a depreciating asset, what you get in return is time well spent and smiles. If you are willing to forgo that in exchange for money, now is your chance.

It took me a long time to find my boat lightly used, so even though I’m not using it too much this year (new baby) I still can’t see selling it and starting the search all over again in hopes prices come down.

If you’re less picky or buy new and you want to make a quick buck then go for it. It’s a nice boat, I’m sure it would sell quick.

I could go a season or two very easily, like i said several friends with a boat. We also own a pontoon (party barge) with 8 other people. Thinking I will put it out there at a crazish price just see what I get. No pressure on me. What’s to lose right.

The only way I'd sell my boat today is if I got offered more than 2x what I paid to drive it off the lot (that's about $140,000 USD) and then I'd suffer for a summer. Right now there are no new boats at the dealers to replace it, so no way I'm selling mine for 20-30% over list...we pay 13% tax up here (lost if I sell) so the fun factor is much more important to me than a measly 4-5k profit and no boat.

Right, it's a question with as many possibilities as owners, but as is the OP asking, and he is not seeing great value in his current ownership if he can state he is willing to forgo the boat for 2 seasons, I say sell.

I could not imagine selling mine for how much fun I get, so it's a no for me. But a boat is such a commitment in time and energy that if you are not fully using it, and enjoying it, might as well sell it and let someone else have that fun you are not getting out of it.(and Pay the costs accordingly :-) )

I wouldn’t sell my boat for 100k right now and I’m not kidding. The new ones are having way too many issues to try and replace it and we are making memories every day that are irreplaceable with our daughter. Cool that you have friends to boat with to lessen the pain. Wish you the best either way.
