Hi, and thanks in advance! I'm curious if anyone has tried--or has any knowledge of--converting a 2017 AR240 display to a 2019 Display? Why? Let me explain.

I have a 2017 AR240 which has an intermittent code 76 on the starboard engine which is the cruise/no wake speed buttons. The good news is that it looks like cake to replace. The bad news is that it's about $3K. For less than that I can get the 2019 buttons AND the 2019 display. BTW, the 2017 display is about $6K all by itself to replace! So it seems like a good idea to switch over if it's possible.

I already have the dashboard pad--the piece that covers the dash on top, where you set stuff on below the windshield. I was planning to modify the dash to accept a sonar/map unit. So mechanically, all I need is the dash board itself, the display and the buttons. That is still less than replacing the 2017 buttons.

Here's the kicker: is all of this going to be compatible? Is the network/wiring compatible between the two years? I know I'm going to have to do something about the stereo, so that's another question: what stereo works with the 2019 unit?

I can see where this might be a total nightmare, or it might not be that bad. I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me a little guidance before I really dig into this. If it's possible and reasonable I'd probably attack it next off season.

Thanks again!
