I will be curious how this works on open water. I have a 3 keg system at my house, 1 commercial, 2 homebrews. When I bring the commercial keg home, I have to let it settle for 1+ day before I tap it, otherwise its 50/50 foam/beer.

I hope to test very soon. Fine tuning the flow control tap and the pressure should help.

Suds are flowing! I chilled a kegged amber at 15psi in my fridge overnight. Put in the boat after work today and headed out 7 miles to dinner with the boat keg pressure set at 15 psi as well. With the tap on a lower flow setting the foam was no more than at home even after bouncing across the lake. Now this was a full keg that is no longer full. Tomorrow I will see how it fares being less than full.

Returned home with an empty keg today:winkingthumbsup" White caps out on the lake today so great stress testing. About a half full keg still performed similar to at home with a reduced flow rate at the tap. When near empty the output was half foam similar to at home as well. The thermocouple temp controller did not keep the keg as cold as it neared empty and would not kick the compressor on even when on max setting. I am going to have to swap that for a precise digital controller which in the long run will be better at maintaining an ice cold temp without freezing.

I did test the the tap flow control at various settings and can say that the cautions concerning foam are well founded but the flow control compensates for that.

I would classify this as a mod that requires good knowledge of the principles at play along with plenty of time and the skillset to execute. Sorry no instructions or kit for this one but if you try it don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for the report! Good info. Would have never probably tried this on my boat, so even more impressed with the results. Frankly very surprised you got anything other than foam... Good job!
