This boat is pure badass, top speed on this video run was 176 Mph at Lake Havasu in Arizona, tons of go fast boats there, see them all over the lake.

Beautiful!
And above my pay grade!

but but strendrives handle water better!!!

10980.00 to insure per year

10980.00 to insure per year

I bet, and then some - I would hate to feed it fuel for a weekend - but if you have 1/2 Million+ to buy one, the rest is cheap Lol.

That is what we were quoted plus 500.00 an hour for the larger motors over 1000hp.

The new one with twin 400 hp outboards peaked our interest

Can my durango pull that?
If it's a HEMI

Seriously though, where does the insurance jump? Horsepower or speed?
I am thinking of the 100 plus mph 21 foot cats vs these 40-50 foot monsters at 175 mph. How is it figured?

The cost to cover a high performance boat in a Poker Run varies depending on speed. A $500,000 boat that runs 90 mph will cost less than a boat that runs 130 mph. Once the speed gets up over 130 mph the costs can jump significantly.

This is from WIA marina insurance. They are the ones that we talked with.

The video was enough to satisfy my interest. Looks fun. But two guys doing 170mph with no helmets? Not too smart. Ever watch the top racing boats? They have a capsule now.
