Hello, my 2009 SX 230 depth finder is only working while sitting ? As soon as we take off it goes blank ? It’s the factory setup? Any ideas how to fix this ? Do not want to drill holes in bottom of boat! Thanks in advance

The stock depth finders on boats from this era are known to be garbage. Previous owner said the one in my boat never worked. I replaced it with a humming bird. the cable fit through the stock opening and the bracket screwed in where the original was. no additional holes to drill.

Mine has done this too. But it came unsnapped in the back. Go to the back of the boat and make sure it is still snapped in place. It's on a hinge and will lift up. I'm guessing this is a safety feature in case you hit or run over something. But that's why it only works while stationary. When you take off, it's lifted to a higher angle.
