Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Weird, weird weird... Im in my garage and i find an old weedeater motor. I shoot some carb cleaner through it, add some new gas and bam it starts right up! Immediately started thinking about putting a prop on it and making my kids a pond boat. Now I find your thread, too funny.
You have to love this forum... It's amazing how fast an idea can go from "This may sound crazy, but..." to " Look what I found laying around", to "I just built a pint sized jetboat." Lol. I LOVE it and can't wait to see this work out!
I may try the stacked washer route and sandwich it between two metal plates with a grease zerk. Maybe find a pvc or brass sleeve to go in there with it?
I mean, i don't plan on pitting in a bilge pump but i guess i could if i actually build this thing! I think i have an extra key start for it too and then just need a small battery, lol gosh this is getting complicated
This honda motor is a nice one. I took it off our hydraulic scaffold and had to replace a few things but i can scavange the electric ignition and it has a battery harging point that is 12 volts because it is a key start. We upgrade the batteries to automotive but they usually come with a lawnmower 12 volt. So yes i literally could put in a stereo! Ong please don't get me started, i still have pictures to hang in the house from like 2 years ago!
Find an old Kawasaki JS300 stand up jet ski, lowest HP you will find in a ski, cut the bottom hull section out with the engine and pump complete above it, then bond it to the boat hull section where you want it. Then govern the speed with the throttle.
