I just went out this weekend and tried out the Wakebooster; worked great and produced more of a wave than I thought it would. Had the surfer side ballast filled 100% and the center one at about 30%. I'll have to get pictures next time for sure.

I have to say, it was a pain to get it attached while on the water, I actually had to get into the water to install it. Could be because of experience and first time trying to install it.

One thing of note is mine (212X) looks like this:

I have seen others that look like this; is this the 19' version or older?

Your's looks exactly like mine that I just bought 2 weeks ago. Something has definitely changed. I texted my sales guy. Also if your's is a pain to install. I posted my fix in a thread. Let me find it.

Great. I really don't have anything to compare it to, but the Wakebooster "wave" looks great. I totally forgot to take pictures.

BTW, did you get the Scupper Cover? I did not.

I had never heard of a scupper cover before. LOL! So, I definitely did not get a scupper cover.

What type of silicone sealant did you use for under the cupholder?
I used loctite marine sealant as I can get it at home depot. Basically it's similar to 3m 4200. Good for above and below waterline and is flexible.

So I think it has been confirmed that there's only one model now for the 21 and 24 footers?

From Yamaha's site:
How To Set Up the Yamaha WakeBooster™
The Yamaha WakeBooster also fits on all of the following Yamaha boats: 2017 and newer 21-foot boats (runabout and FSH), and 2015 and newer 24-foot runabout boats. Watch Product Manager Mike Ricciardi install the WakeBooster on a 242X boat.

Although there's technically 2 different part numbers by looking online. Man how confusing. Although at this point I don't want those tabs on my gel coat AND the wave is great. So not sure I'm going to beat my dealer up about it if they are in fact "wrong". Just seems odd that 3 different dealers sold 3 different people the same kit for 24 ft boats with 21 ft boats. :shrugs:

My point exactly. I am thinking the ones with the tabs may be for the 19 ft boats? Who knows.?‍♂️

BTW - I was able to just tighten down the tie down rings and that made it perfect. They were a little "loose" and I was able to get a full turn on the nuts, and that did it. Easy now, just like the videos!

Awesome! Glad that worked out for you. I couldn't get enough room just by doing that. Which made my life more difficult.

You get used to it over time. We've had ours (2016 242) for about year, and now its pretty quick - about 30 seconds or less. The one place its almost impossible to install is on a fast moving river, as the water pushing throw forces it against the pin thus making very difficult to install.
