Real quick what are the differences between the SX240 and the 242 Limited? I'm a newbie, if there's a way to get this answer in searches or FAQ please clue me in!
The limited will have an upgraded interior material used, upgraded stereo and speakers, fresh water shower, in the some models Seadek was included on the limited and not on the SX but starting in 2016 model year they all received it also limited comes with an upgraded carpet. Each individual is different as to whether they see these options worth the additional price. I have an SX and really didn't see the justification in it for my use. The limited E series has electronic throttles as well but it is a another jump in price to get that. I would like the electronic throttle but once again not sure if it is worth another $5k over the regular limited price.

Not sure if you bought a boat, but if you need any insights on the SX, I can provide you some perspective. I was a newbie last year and did some deep soul searching before pulling the trigger on the SX over the Limited or e.
Sx240 is a budget and limited S is obviously more luxurious one.
I personally would go with the SX or the AR240. i believe new limited S has same tower design. most other things you can add afterwards(minus shower...do you really need the shower?)
Shower tank takes the only space in the strbd rear compartment otherwise available for ballast - if anyone is thinking about wake surfing (and adding aftermarket ballast bags).
There us very little difference in the sx240 and the 242 limited. The tower shape is the most major difference in the ar240 and 242 limited S . The are minor interior upgrades but I don't think enough to justify the price difference on that alone. As for the shower I will be removing mine to make room for ballast so one that hsppen there will be a shower kit for sale in the classifieds section. I never used it except to fill and empty it for the season so we never found a use for it.
In 2017 the limited and e series models have tge snap down seadek type stuff which in pretty nice but I think most here agree the adhesive kind is better because stuff won't get under it.

Thanks for your interest. I was trying to impress that for me that it is useless rather than making a sales pitch. I will let you know before I post this in the classifieds section. It will be a month or more before that happens and the size and weight could make shipping very expensive. That said I don't think Yamaha sold complete add on kits after 2009 model year.
2015 plus should fit yours just fine. FYI I will see cheap but not give it away. To put it in perspective a compete 2009 kit with plastic for hardware run $460 bucks which just seems crazy to me.
I actually prefer the 2010-2014's tower...the Bimini coverage is as big as my SX which is definitely needed... the 2015+'s coverage is mediocre at best...

@n1111z - Sorry your thread is getting hijacked into the shower thread.
@FloJet@blacksapphirez@jameskeller76 - Since my opinion was that the shower was not something I will ever use can you chime in on what you would use it for. I am not a dirty person but if I need to freshen up on the boat I just use unscented baby wipes. I keep deodorant on the boat and sunblock is a more favorable fragrance the sweat in a pinch. Hand sanitizer is also a must wherever I am. Not trying to talk anyone out of a putting in a shower but rather trying to understand why you would spend time and money to install one.
Only boats in the Yamaha lineup I could see using the shower would be the FSH series washing down fish guts and stuff off the swim platform. Why Yamaha doesn't use one on a fishing boat is beyond me.
