DIY copper cable lugs

Not sure they would pass a coast guard inspection.

But I got my new large cable crimper and just had to try it out.

Start with the appropriate size soft copper tubing. Ream the end. IF you want to get all fancy you could Put a slight flare on the end.

Cut the tubing to length and chuck it in your vise. If you want make more then one and have them be the same size make a few marks for the OAL and for the smushed end.

Smush it. Might have to reposition it a few times to get it nice and flat



Center punch and drill



Take a flat file and make it all pretty like

4 gauge welding cable



And the China crimper didn’t have a die for 4 gauge. Had to over crimp it a bit

No Coast Guard looking at stuff that close not where I live anyways. I just got boarded by the Coast Guard a couple weeks ago.
