Does anyone know what kind of bearing buddy like component MFI uses?

I need to replace one of the bearing buddy like devices on my 2007 SX230 built by MFI.

I am wondering if anyone knows who made it or the part number before I pull it apart?

Thanks

Are you sure it's not an actual Bearing Buddy? My '04 galvanized trailer has Bearing Buddy brand. Of course I'm, I believe, the 4th owner so they MAY have been replaced but I don't think they were. Regardless, Bearing Buddy units fit in my MFI trailer.

My 2005 trailer has a sticker on the tongue that lists the Bearing Buddy model.

OK, going from memory here, but I recall the MFI trailers use the UFP brand components which are "Trailer Buddy" not "Bearing Buddy" which is a competitor.

Can anyone validate or debunk this?

You are correct. They used "Trailer Buddy" by UFP.

My 2008 mfi trailer has a bearing buddy sticker

I am 99% sure my 2004 trailer has Bearing Buddy. I can confirm late this afternoon.

My 2007 has trailer buddy. Anyone know what size?

I do not have the stainless steel caps shown on the sticker. I have rubber socks over the end.

My "bearing buddy" type device leaks grease around the seal. I believe I need the entire unit or is that cap sufficient?
It all depends on what you prefer, you could also use a solid dust cap. In my case a bearing buddy won't work, my trailer spindles have a zerk fitting at the end for greasing and I need a dust cap with a removable center piece.

Going from memory I believe I have Bearing Buddies & 1.98" hubs. So I believe that translates to the 1980 model. Differing options for Stainless Steel (SS) are also available. Also, last time I shopped for a pair there was an older style and a newer style available. Only difference was that the new ones have that blue ring which is an indicator of the grease level. Hope that helps you out @Bruce.

Mine has the exact same bearing. I recently called MFI in Tenn. (the number is on your sticker), and purchased 2 of the rubber bras. $5 ea. but the shipping was about $10..they don't ship USP. If you are so inclined they do still sell ANY part for your trailer but you have to call them directly as their website offers no pricing and very little of any info. They were great to deal with but I once had to leave a call back number, just fyi.

on my 07 I have the exact same sticker and have wonder about getting that metal cover as none of my bearings have it, the all have the rubber slip over cover,

Isn't the metal cover under the big black rubber boot?

I bought my boat used so I can't say what it was originally, I really doubt the original owner did anything to it but none of mine have the metal cover over the zerk area as the picture indicates, only the rubber boot.

It looks like the metal cover is an alternative to the boot.

This was from trailerandtruckparts website where I got them.

I like that you can always see your grease level if you use the caps instead of the boots.

Huh, mine are Trailer Buddy units too! Interdasting.
