Drag race-old vs new

I'm fairly surprised by the similarity between the two models. Wouldn't one expect a more appreciable difference with the increased 2012+ horsepower (320 vs 360?) and changes to the pumps/nozzles (if I recall correctly?) and presumably a newer more efficient hull???

Yea, I thought the new motors would he a little faster.

Pretty sure I have heard that the 212ss/x with the 1.8's go 55+ so someone needs to chime in and prove it!

GPS. 55

No I'm saying I want to see the new SS with GPS. I wish mine did 55 but then I would want 60.

That was awesome !!!

Probably time to slink back in the shadows. I just got a report from @Brian eilrich who said he is getting 50 mph with 9 people on board. I am going to politely decline his invitations to drag race again.:)

I got that with me and 3 kids!
In any case.... @Brian eilrich :

@buckbuck , nice. Looks like you have bragging rights unless or until there is a rematch with a different outcome.

Based on my experience with an '06 SX and '10 242 ls, I'm not surprised by the result here. The SX seemed to accelerate faster than the ls and felt like the former would get to its higher Rev limit of 10,200 faster than the latter (at 7,700 rpm). I'd expect a similar result between 2009 232 ls and a 2010 242 ls.

as far as I know 2009 was the last year the 230 series boats (with 160 hp motors) were made and 2010 was the first year of the 240s (with 180 hp motors).

Still... i want a realllyy fast jet boat some day.

That wasn't a fair competition...@brian eilrich has less wind resistance. @OperationROL needs to shave his head and rerace. ;)

@Speedling I almost jumped out of my boat at Shelbyville when Bill W fired up his Sea Ray right next to me. Lol
