I was looking at a 215 ho impulse today and trying to figure out where to place a second battery. Engine compartment is tight. Are people placing them under the port side seat?
Awesome, please do take a pic. I too was considering this spot but was concerned about balance and just my stuff shuffling around with the battery in that compartment. Maybe we can get a battery cover to help protect it.
That does fit snug. Thanks for the pics. Is the box mounted to the floor or the wood panel? I'm curious what battery you chose to go with. Almost looks smaller to fit the spot?
@Pinhacker71 , Sorry I know I'm digging up an old post here, but I'm finally moving forward with this mod now that the weather is getting cooler and the boat sees more downtime.
I don't have a great understanding of all the different battery types and sizes, so looking for additional clarification. So you're running a Standard 24 AGM as your second battery, which is different than what I believe is the stock 27 size for the boat right? It's ok to have two different types of batteries in there? The stock battery is not AGM right?
Also, you said you mounted the box to the floor. Did you just screw straight through the box and into the fiberglass with self tapping screws? No worry of puncturing anything under there? So hard to see.
Oh and one more thing, what's that NOCO genius thing? Just for charging purposes?
