This was the first weekend we took our Chaparral vortex 203 VRX out on the water. We were out for about an hour then stopped in idle and had lunch. When we were ready to head out, we noticed that there was an e reverse module error! It put us into a limp mode where we could not go more than 5 mph and couldn't use neutral or reverse. It made for a long ride back and nearly impossible to dock the marina. Any ideas what would cause this? and if it happens again, is there a way to get out of this limp mode so I can drive the boat at normal speed? The batteries are fully charged btw.

Try replacing the two relays with these. Worked in my VRX

check the breaker, usually found near the battery.
unplug and check connections everywhere you can.
if you can disconnect the cable from the module, check that everything moves easily.
then you might try the relays.

after that, probably time to visit your dealer.
