I repeat this process several times.
 
I am not familiar with your engines, but they are probably dry. The residual water may just be from the waterboxes. It is the small passage ways in the head gaskets and cooling water jackets that easily bio-foul.
 
Your engines may not be as easily affected as the older 1052cc ones, but having to remove an engine to correct a overheat problem is very expensive and comes with the risk that the work will not be done properly.
