Hey guys,

When I turn the key for the Port Engine, I get nothing. STBD starts up and works fine. I'm assuming there's a break in the electrical chain somewhere along the line and was hoping I could get a basic troubleshooting guide.

Thanks!

Is the throttle lever in neutral?
Have you tried the clean out port hatch switches?
Are you out on the water currently?

Yes it's in neutral. Yes currently out of water. No on hatch switches. It attempted to turn over for about 20 to 30 seconds, and then just stopped. I thought maybe starter relay, but figured I'd get in there with a multi meter and trace down where the electrons aren't getting through.

If it attempted to turn over (but didnt fire) I don't believe is should be the hatch switches, as they should not turn at all (for safety) if those are dis-engaged.

Though you could try it by holding down the hatch switched individually by hand with the hatch open. . . . . (easiest way is another set of hands to help) just to rule it out.

Not sure if a bad neutral safety switch will let it turn and not fire . . . . . others will have to chime in.

The lanyard switch will allow it to turn over but not start.

Is it a 2 stage switch, in that the Starboard would work as described but not the Port?
