On the water yesterday and both engines ran at peak perf. Anchored up to let kids jet ski and tube. Once we’re ready to head back in port side wouldn’t start. Getting fire, no fuel. Hobbled back in on one engine.

Back home it seemed not getting any fuel. Filters are less than a year old and feared it may be fuel pump. Removed fuel line from filter on down side of filter to see if any fuel came out. Turned over and nothing, only to realize that the pump wouldn’t pull any fuel only air. Whatever it sucked in or cleared up worked. Reinstalled the line and it fired right up.

My question is, is this a precursor to a failing pump, carb rebuild or both or something entirely different. Running a 2001 ls2000.

Sounds like it’s time for a carb/fuel pump rebuild. The kits contain parts for both. You’ll need three kits per engine.

For warm restarts I give it 25% throttle. If it doesn’t start first try I pull the choke and keep it at 25% throttle. Good luck ;)
