Yup, you read the title correctly. I wanted to make the title I'm a dumb a$$. Anyways, at the beginning of the season I pulled into the gas station to fill the boat up, same gas station I've used for the past 5 years (how long I've owned the boat). This particular station has a different canopy for non-ethanol, completely separate from the other "normal" pumps on the other side of the parking lot. As I pulled in and parked at the pump some Karen comes flying in behind me yelling out her window how I have a directional out and she almost ran into the back of me, not trying to make excuses.. but I was distracted/flustered with that, she eventually pulls away and I just grab the handle and and start filling the boat. I launch the boat and drive it over to the dock it stays at all year. I show up a week later to take it out, I go to start the boat but it doesn't want to fire up. This thing has been a beast for me, normally starts on the first crank every time. It eventually starts after a few more cranks and we buzz around the lake a little bit, but I can tell something is up. I bring it back to the dock and I'm troubleshooting things, I'm no pro; but I know a little bit. It's cranking over and the plugs have a good spark so I'm thinking maybe its some kind of fuel delivery problem, I disconnect the fuel line that sends gas from the tank and put it into a clear bottle, just to see if its spitting out gas and the fuel pumps are working, when I do that the gas is RED... google tells me that sometimes non-ethanol can be red but I don't trust that. I take a drive over to the gas station and come to find out in the midst of all the non-ethanol pumps there's 1 f***ing kerosene pump and of course that's the one I accidently used.
*side note, the boat had about half a tank of non-ethanol still in it from the previous season when I put the kerosene in*
Obviously the first thing I need to do is pump out that gas tank.. then I was thinking replace fuel filters, injectors, spark plugs, do a compression test.
I'm turning to you guys to let me know how screwed I might be.
Any ideas/advice on what I should do/how to proceed??
