Sorry, are you saying the your fuel is somehow leaking into the bilge ? No, not normal at all. If I'm understanding this correctly, you need to get this fixed ASAP. There should be never be any fuel outside the tank. No smell either. Like, at all.
Thanks. This only happens after overfilling at a gas station. The pump shuts off and I hit it again to fill to the top which I realize now is a mistake. The fuel came out of the drain plug hole. Is there a diagram of the fuel lines I can trace and correct?
Sadly no diagrams available to the public. It's a Scarab specific thing (not BRP) and they don't share that beyond dealers. But the lines are very simple. The filler line goes straight to the fuel tank. And then there's a line that comes out of the tank via the fuel pump and to the engine. That's it.
It's unclear that your leak is coming from filling up though. It could also be a bad connection at the ends of the fuel line, damaged line, damaged pump, etc. This will require a good inspection to confirm how fuel is getting into your bilge. But don't delay this fix. Any fumes let alone fuel can accumulate inside the engine bay and explode. I would ensure this is addressed before using the boat again.
