Water Filter/Strainer Kit protects your inter cooler from damage and reduced efficiency due to waterborne debris such as sand, seaweed, grass and pebbles that are sucked into the cooling system. Said in the Ad. It seems like it may help, but not sure.

I haven’t heard of anyone installing these on Scarabs or other jet boats. On jet skis, which tend to get driven in very shallow water and beached regularly, it seems like a no-brainer. The risk of installing a filter is forgetting that it’s there, and letting it fill up with crud to a point where it plugs.
It might be a great thing if you tend to beach your boat a lot.
