Fire Extinguisher - Winter

Do you all remove your fire extinguisher(s) over winter that live in cold climates??

Yes Sir! I have a CO2 extinguisher for my engine compartment and I get it certified / tested yearly as well.

I check the multipurpose extinguisher under my helm to make sure it still has a charge. I store them both inside.

....absolutely want them to work if i ever need them.

Nope. We have a fire company inspect our equipments extinguishers annually and they’ve never said anything about the cold weather bothering them. They’re in equipment that sit out all winter with no issues so I don’t see a need to take it out of the boat.

I keep two on board, one at the front under the port side bench and one on the side console behind the throttles in the factory holster. I remove them as well as my batteries for the winter storage.

I work for a large extinguisher manufacturing company. No need to remove them. Dry chemical is rated for use -65 F to 120 F. Fire extinguishers are used around the globe in all temps. Winterizing isn’t going to phase them

@haknslash , what about CO2 and Halon? Similar I assume?
