I have a 2017 yamaha 212 ltd. I like the float mode feature but I have to leave my ignitions in on position to listen to my stereo. I cannot figure out how to listen to music without draining my batteries. Appreciate any ideas or help.

Can you switch to the number 2 battery? This is your house battery which is (or should be) a deep cycle battery meant for longer periods of use.

:Welcome: to the forum!!! Do you have pics to share? We love pictures!!!

Everytime I switch of either of my batteries (house or starter) my connect screen goes off. I saw another post where someone said to just hold in 1 of the buttons next to my screen or turn on the stereo controller on the swim platform. Either option will turn on the stereo without turning on the keys. I'm going to try this. Thanks

Before trying this, just confirm the 2nd battery is a deep cycle. Deep cycles will provide power of longer times. Whenever sitting listening to music be sure to switch to your #2 battery.

(Though I want to say that when I replaced my batteries last I got a 'marine starting deep cycle' battery x2 at Costco... Which I always thought was oxymoronic--should be one or the other, not both. Anyway, they work fine and I have had no issues.)

Having one or the other or both does not hurt anything. These engines do not require lots of cranking amps and easily start right up. I replaced both batteries with 2 Duracell AGM deep cycle batteries and have had no issues.

With the standard twin battery set up from Yamaha, both batteries should be turned to the ON position with Battery #1 being the Start, and #2 being the House. Both of mine are deep cycle AGM Marine and the house is a Group 31, and the Start a 27 (smaller size). I've never had a problem with the batteries going dead with the trickle charger.

On my 2016, I press the systems button and everything comes on

To avoid drain on my accessory battery when anchored, at the beach, float mode, etc, I just bring on board my UE Ultimate Ears and stream off my iTunes library from my phone, great sound and no battery concerns. It's also waterproof so if it accidently goes over board, no problem. Tunes all day long!UE.jpg
