Hi there I was watching the terrible flood situation/s that are at present in the the eastern states of the US.
I was wondering if there are any Jet boats being used for flood and swift water rescue operations.
We have designed a boat specifically for just this purpose (Jetcat) as i have posted previously.
We are trying to contact the various organisation/s that are directly involved with disaster management so as to perhaps help in any way we can.
If any of you know of,or are involved with these operations and could share a contact or pass on our contact details we would happy to talk to the relevant parties and to pass on any knowledge we have with flood rescue using jet catamarans/boats.
Our contact details can be available on request
Thanks
Steve Jandt

Thanks Speedling for your help , I know you have been supportive of our boat.
We will make contact with these organisations and will do this over the coming days.

Sales would be great, but we would be more than happy to offer any advice or assistance we could because its about saving lives and there is no price on that.

A wood chip stuck in the impeller can disable my Yami - what do you guys do differently with your pumps?

I believe they use Scott waterjets. Awesome pumps and top notch quality from everything I have heard about them.

Performance benefits of Scott Waterjets
• Scott Waterjets are designed to give maximum performance to any engine/boat combination
• More load lifting, better hole shot, better fuel economy
• Our Waterjets completely dominate the sport of Jet Sprinting world-wide

Why choose a TWO STAGE unit...
• Unmatched in white water
• Huge resistance to cavitation
• Less maintenance, more efficient than a single stage
• Will still operate with trash in the gate
• Will still perform with worn impellers
• Easy to match to a wide range of engines

Not only that, but when you get to bigger pumps and higher horsepower, it seems they "process" the little stuff into shrapnel.

Hi Seadude we use Scott two stage jet units model 612 with hardened Stainless steel impellers, these will process just about any debris they ingest.

So far we have not been able to stop this unit with any amount of trash,(believe me we have tried).. But nothing is infallible .
Jetcat has two of these units in the boat spaced almost 2 meters apart, (being a catamaran) so have another source of power in the unlikely event that one should become inoperative.

The Scott Jet intake grates are designed very differently to those of your Yamaha.
The bars on our intake grates are titanium alloy and have only 10 mm (3/8") spaces between therefor only small items can pass through.
Also the intake area is recessed in to the hull approx 75 mm (3') so it is clear of the bottom even when we run her aground , or up the boat ramp or over a road.
