I'm fortunate enough to be able to run my boat in both freshwater and saltwater. Freshwater lakes around GreensboroNC in the Summer and Fall, and in saltwater at Jupiter FL in the Winter and Spring. So I've been wondering where our forum members do their boating- Freshwater, Saltwater or both?

Both, but I would not leave her sitting in either for more than a few weeks at a time.

Both here. I launch from Brices creek and boat mostly in the Trent and Neuse river.
But occasionally go saltwater from Beufort to Cape Lookout

Both; with no worries-

Galvanized trailer-

Conscious to use Silicon protectant before extended salt water use (Bimini,...) and fresh water rinse in and out, afterwards-

The hull design that yamaha has settled on is much more than nec'y for flat lake use.

I've gone out in 10 foot rollers (@Bruce should have never advised that folks not go out on day 1 in '16 Bimini, as it made @Kevin Sargent and I HAVE to go out. I was getting my 242X completely airborne diagonally running up the face of these waves and gracefully landing on the back sides.)

The deep V @ 21degree penetration is meant to cut waves. Go where the waves are! These boats were designed with the assumption of salt water; just use common sense.

Freshwater only. ...Texas lakes.

I am just across the Trent from you. I live on the Reedy Branch directly behind Gary's Nursery

If my new boat purchase goes as planned, both. My boating over the last 10 years with my friends has been in a combination of primarily brackish inter-coastal, occasional fresh water rivers, and some open ocean in the Keys and the Gulf.

Freshwater lakes only in Texas and Oklahoma.

I've grown up with boats in salt water. I might put mine in salt a couple times, but the majority of use will be fresh water. I've seen salt destroy many boats. It's brutal.

For me that leave in South Florida is always saltwater but I wish I can do freshwater at the end of the season!!!
