Ramps would not be my concern either. Highway speeds would be my concern. And here is why...
Given, you are within towing capacity, having a physically larger vehicle for a pontoon is essential. And I don't say this when towing boats or flat trailers. I am usually the guy on here giving guys crap for saying you need an F350 to tow a fishing boat. Pontoon boats, especially those on bunk trailers, rather than scissor trailers are sails on the highway.
I towed my buddies Bennington which is slightly heavier than my 242LS. In a side wind, those suckers are like the tail wagging the dog! WOW! So yes, be sure you are within capacity, and consider 4wd, but I have pulled with a front wheel drive back in my waverunner days. They worked on the ramp. But a pontoon should not be compared to any of our jet boats, it's just not the same animal. The weight is one measure when towing, the amount of wind catching/blocking mass is one not considered by many new owners. And it is a serious misconception, as they are only looking at weight.
And on the note of scissor trailers. If you choose to go pontoon and go scissor, rather than bunk, those are not long range trailers. The natural sway is crazy, but if not loaded perfectly, the sway caused by unbalanced load is a nightmare. They are truly a point a to b trailer never meant for distance.
