OK, no real reason for this thread. Just champin' at the bit to get the boating season going up here.

You do live in the frozen North!

I was talking to the Alaskan who owns the lot across the road this morning and he was complaining about the lack of snow in Alaska this winter.

TOO PHUNNY !
Butt ............ It better WARM up ........... I'm comin' to Mille Lacs in a month for some Walleye fishin' ............
Come on HEAT !

Hijack...Walleye...the best fresh water fish to eat...in my opinion of course! As far as the frozen north, seems that much of the country can't boat. Too much water, not enough water, too hot, too cold...enough already!

Amen, horrible winter this past season for snow up here! Still put on 1200 miles on the sled. Now, we are in 100% boat mode and this crap comes. The rain finally stopped and the snow stopped west of us.

We are checking out the cabin tonight after work. Just a matter of time to put the lift in. I'm a late lift person, as this is perfect catfishing time and keep the boat at home. But this cold will turn the fish off a bit. Guys had a tough weekend for the Walleye opener. Cold and wet for many.

Hijack - I MUST agree.
I enjoyed Walleye (fresh !!!!!!!!!!!!) for the first time 2 years ago ..........
and was Blown Away on how good it tasted. Beats bass even !
Excellent observation, Mr. Mel.

Continued hijack (just trying to take @GTBRMC 's mind off of the weather)! Having never really lived in a bass fishing area, I didn't know people ate bass. I thought you caught them, showed them to the camera and then threw them back.

Just a heads up but you might want to choose some place other then Mille Lacs this year, there are only allowing 1 walleye and the slot limit is tight. Try leech or red lake. I live on leech and just went out for opener and it was great

And don't forget to mention how skinny the 'eyes are on Mille Lacs again this year. I heard they were biting on opener, so you can catch quite a few, just can't keep any of them. Just a bummer since it was such a great fishery...

Yeah ............. but we had a TON of fun, and am looking forward to it this again this year, with 1 of my Best Friends.
Boys week off ............ LOL ! Slot limits ARE tight, but the FIGHT of the fish is soooooooooooo worth it.
And yes ............ Only leeches.
