I was concerned about the same thing. I need my cover to fit. I think I posted this awhile ago, but here it is again. I used the quick mount, and installed it on the gunnel with a backing plate. I then had a SS plate made with the quick mount bolt pattern. When I remove my motor, the only thing left behind is the small insert part of the mount. I also use a ram mount to stop it from bouncing when I’m running.
I like the look of that @Dwayne Henderson . The way i mounted mine it cuts across the deck. Not a big deal for me as when im fishing its down I may tweak mine this spring like you did. It looks like your motor is darn near centerline when deployed. What thickness plate did you use?
Yes, I found the sweet spot for it. I can open the anchor locker, the hatch for the storage on the starboard side still works, and the motor deploys within a couple inches of centerline.
